Painful breasts during pregnancy
Painful breasts during pregnancy is a common symptom. We all know that pregnant women go through a lot of changes both physically and mentally. And one of the prominent change occur in breasts. As a pregnant women has to be prepared for breastfeeding, body starts secreting hormones which causes sensitivity of breasts and probably pain too. It is a common condition during pregnancy. Tender or sore breasts are usually one of the initial signs of pregnancy. During this some of them experience heaviness and even tenderness where as some of them even experience tickly feeling around nipple and are troubled at some cases. Around 3 to 4 weeks into the pregnancy, one can notice breast pain and probably even before confirming the pregnancy with a test.

The primary and main reason for breast pain is due to the increase of hormones like oestrogen and progesterone which probably results in changes in breasts. Pregnant women body prepares itself to produce milk for baby feeding so breast tenderness and pain is just a nature’s way of preparing for this job. During this period the fat layer in breasts gets thicker and as the blood flow to this area is enhanced the ducts in the milk glands increases in number. With the effects of the increased hormones, breasts grow larger and even heavier which eventually causes discomfort and pain.

One of the best and most common remedy to avoid breast pain during pregnancy is increase the amount of
water intake. Being hydrated enough is known to aggravate the soreness and even the pain in breasts. Drinking enough water automatically flushes out the excess hormones naturally. Adding lemon or ginger to drinking water helps in addressing pain and even soreness.
Intake of flax seeds, which are an extraordinary source of fibre helps in reduction of breast pain. Adding one
tablespoon of flax seeds with water or any fruit juice or yogurt helps to bring a great relief.
Reduce the intake of sodium for a certain extent.
