An important study disclosed that pregnancy causes significant changes in the structure of women brain. After the MRI scans they found that the women lost gray matter during the pregnancy stage. They speculated that this is the form where body gets rid of unnecessary neural networks and makes the brain more efficient and specialized so that it helps the women bond with their baby and respond to their needs.
Though there are not definite conclusions about the changes in memory during the pregnancy stage but if one is facing this situation they can follow some strategies which helps to remember important things and helps to get over momnesia :-
Dealing with forgetfulness in pregnancy:
~ Use a note-taking app and set reminders so that you won’t be able to miss a event.
~ Set alarms and notifications where you wont be missing any important meetings or a task.
~ Get a proper sleep, it also makes you feel fresh and refreshes your memory power.
~ Simplify things, that is distinguish things and prioritize them and make sure what is necessary and what is not which helps you to save your energy and even reduces your stress.
~ Exercise daily, it not only keeps you healthy but also sharpens the memory power. It even helps to sleep better which in turn increases the alertness during the day. So make sure you follow this and remember that little
forgetfulness is normal and no need to worry about that.
